Reproduction and the carbon cycle
Asexual Reproduction
Algae in the marine biome reproduces by asexual reproduction. As shown in the diagram above, the algae uses the process of sporing to reproduce. Algae also does reproduce sexually but it rarely occurs. The algae pack shoots a spore that makes another pack resulting in a new algae. This process continues and it keeps feeding fish and other organisms.
The Carbon Cycle
The Carbon Cycle in the marine biome is very simple. It is very much like the water cycle. It starts by plants doing photosynthesis and the air flowing to the surface of the ocean. We breathe in all that air and let out carbon which goes back to the ocean for the animals inside to breathe. The salt goes through a cycle similar to this with decomposition of sediment making extra salt to go into the ocean. This cycle keeps going to allow everyone to survive in and out of the water. The diagram above shows the steps for the visual people. This shows the law of conservation of mass because the system keeps going over time and has not stopped. The cycle also keeps producing the same amount of salt and air keeping it allowable under the law of conservation of mass.
